Surgery hours
Monday to Friday 8.30am to 6.30pm. We are closed on Bank Holidays and
for staff training on one Wednesday afternoon a month. Telephone lines
are open Monday to Friday 8.30am to 6pm. They can be very busy for
the first hour or so but we will answer your call as soon as possible.
During the lunch period (12.30pm-1.30pm) lines are open for emergencies
only. The emergency number will be given on a recorded message. Click

With a doctor: telephone 01604 890313 as soon as possible after
8.30am or come to the surgery and speak to a receptionist. Normally you
will be offered an appointment on the same day. A small number of appointments
are available to make in advance under special circumstances, for example
if you are disabled and need more time to arrange transport. Ten minutes
are usually allotted for an appointment. If you think you might need
more time please ask at reception.
With a practice nurse or phlebotomist: contact reception. Some
appointments are available on the day and others can be made up to 4
weeks in advance.
Urgent medical problems out of hours: telephone NorMed on 01604 722282.
A receptionist will take the necessary details and a doctor will call
you back to advise. If necessary the patient will be invited to attend
the clinic in Northampton for further assessment. If the patient is housebound
and needs to be seen urgently, a home visit will be arranged.
Alternatively, for advice only at any time, contact NHS Direct on 0845

Life-threatening emergencies: in cases of major injury, severe
chest pain, severe breathing difficulty or collapse, dial 999 for an
ambulance.
With a health visitor: 01604 890149. If she is not available
when you call, you can leave a message on her answerphone.
With a district nurse: 01604 890149 or 890185. The best time
to call is 8.30am-9am. At other times you can leave a message on the
answerphone.
With a midwife or podiatrist: contact reception. You can make
an appointment without seeing a doctor.
With a counsellor: If you would like to see the counsellor you
will need first to discuss the problem with one of the doctors. Her appointments
are on Friday mornings.
IMPORTANT: If for any reason you have to cancel an appointment please
give us as much warning as possible.
